Hi, I’m Leonardo Bartoli — a creatively-led thinker and Associate Creative Director with a strong background in both copywriting and art direction. I’ve spent a good stretch of time shaping ideas across South America and Europe, including stints at Droga5 Dublin, Publicis Dublin, DDFH&B/JWT Worldwide, Publicis Rio and Giovanni+DraftFCB Brasil.
Roughly half my career was spent as a copywriter, the other half as an art director — a split that gave me a rare, 360-degree view of the creative process and a sharper eye (and ear) for powerful ideas.
I’ve helped build campaigns for brands like Tesco, FreeNow, AIB, Dublin City Council, Lyons Tea, Brennan’s, Johnson & Johnson, Dublin Airport — and plenty more.
Along the way, my work’s been recognised at the CCRJ, ICADs, Kinsale Sharks, Communication Arts, Cannes shortlists — and the legendary Fresh Tortellini Award.*
Then I did the unexpected: took a sabbatical and became a tattoo artist. Yes, there’s a story there. No, I won’t share it now — I’m saving it for when I need to sound more interesting.
These days, I’m diving deep into artificial intelligence. I’m currently doing an MBA in Applied AI for Business (Exame/Saint Paul), and recently completed a hands-on AI video workshop with the brilliant crew at Human Academy. I'm genuinely excited about what AI can unlock for creative craft and thinking — and I’m all in.
Having lived and worked across different cultures, I’ve found that multicultural experiences don’t just expand your worldview — they sharpen your creative instincts. They teach you to listen better, spot nuance, and think beyond your own references. I carry that with me into every brief.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me with a brush in hand — painting canvases or murals around town. Developing my artistic side has become a real source of joy and creative energy.
If you’re after fresh thinking, sharp ideas, and someone who still believes in the power of a well-crafted brief (or my tortellini recipe) — give me a shout. I’m open to freelance work or full-time gigs.
*Not a real award (but it should be).
