Imagine your client’s largest sponsorship—an iconic Irish championship—suddenly cancelled by COVID-19. That was our reality when the GAA All-Ireland Football Championship stopped in 2020, threatening AIB Bank’s connection with its audience.

Rising to the challenge, we reinvented the brand’s role by spotlighting key GAA figures whose actions embodied unity, resilience, and support within their communities at a defining moment. With no matches taking place, we amplified moving stories that shifted the narrative from competition to the true power of community.

Not a single minute of Championship football was played that summer, yet by the end, we had achieved AIB’s most successful GAA sponsorship campaign in over thirty years.
